It was always going to be hard to follow up the breakout brilliance of Yoshimi.
There is still the kitchen sink orchestration with the sequencer getting a heavy workout.
The Lipmeisters (?) aren’t quite as frantic here, and the vibe is more obviously humourous. It sorta feels like they’re trying to engage more directly with their old indy audience.
There are a few too many psychedelic-spazz out tracks – the sort of stuff Ween indulge in too often. But tracks like It Overtakes Me and The Yeah Yeah Yeah Song redeem the Ef-Ells.
